Rishabh Shetty criticized OTT platforms in an interview at the International Film Festival of India. He said that OTT platforms are not recognizing Kannada movies at all.
He said that in a pandemic like COVID-19, where movies were not being released in theaters at all, OTT platforms were showing movies on their platforms.
The industry benefited a lot from the convenience of this OTT platform, but there was one industry that did not benefit at all from this initiative of OTT platforms and that was the Kannada film industry.
Expanding his point, Rishabh Shetty said that actually, we wanted OTT platforms to purchase the films being made in the Kannada film industry and show them on their platforms.

He said that showing the movies on their platform after purchasing them may cause a loss.
Rishabh Shetty said that there was no possibility of loss because the film could have been shown dubbed in Hindi and other languages but OTT platforms did not show any interest in Kannada movies.
