The story is taken from the book 12th Fail written by Anurag Pathak. The story is based on real incidents and Vikrant Massey plays the character of Manoj Kumar Sharma who is from Chambal.

Manoj Kumar Sharma failed in 12th class and wants to become an IPS officer but he is from a poor family background with limited resources.

But after completing the B.A. he reached Delhi for the UPSC preparation and here the story begins, How a Hindi medium guy survives in that environment and clears the exam of UPSC, become an IPS officer.

The story of the movie is very inspiring and tells the people that nothing is impossible even if you have a very bad start.
