Movie Industry Lost Crores In IND Vs NZ Semi-Final

The fan following of cricket is so high in India as it is the biggest sport in India right now.  And it’s time for the World Cup in India and the team of Rohit Sharma doing so well.

Yesterday was a semi-final between India and New Zealand which is the high voltage match.

Many Bollywood celebrities are there to support India. But do you know that affects negatively the Indian cinema industry as fewer audiences come to the movie theatres because of the Indian New Zealand semi-final match?

Movies like Tiger 3 and Jigar Thanda are doing so well nowadays at the box office.  But yesterday almost half the audience reached the theatres as we expected. Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 lost almost 7 crore Rupees as all the cricket fans canceled their plan to watch the movie.

Same for the Jigar Thanda this movie also lost a high amount of traffic. If you have seen many movies released but some movies didn’t even get a single person to watch the movie.

But it doesn’t mean that movies collapsed they lost traffic because it was a semi-final match. You will see the growth in traffic in theatres again.

Well, India beat New Zealand by 70 runs and reached the final which will held at Ahmedabad. Virat Kohli breaks the record of Sachin Tendulkar by hitting his 50th Century in an ODI. Mohammed Shami stole the show by taking 7 wickets and became player of the match.

The winner of Australia Vs South Africa meets India in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
